On January 10, the annual conference of Guangzhou City Taxpayers Association was held with a theme of “tax authorities and enterprises hand in hand to create a new business landscape”.

Guangzhou City Taxpayers Association was established in March 2016 after registration with the Bureau of Civil Affairs of Guangzhou, and it is the first taxpayer rights protection organization in Guangdong province which is sponsored by taxpayers, duly registered and independently managed. In 2018, the association had 12 new members. And now it has more than 180 members.

Yi Bing, former deputy head of the Personnel Division of the State Administration of Taxation in his speech fully affirmed the work of the association in guiding taxpayers to learn about and comply with laws and pay taxes honestly, protecting legal rights of taxpayers, and maintaining social stability and promoting regional economic development.

Mei Hing Chak, chairman of Guangzhou City Taxpayers Association and president of Heung Kong Group, pointed out in the work report that the association held 40 complimentary taxation events throughout 2018 with member attendance of over 3,000 person/times, which enabled development of the association in an innovative way with “taxation+” integrated services. In 2019, the association aims to transform from “a bridge between tax authorities and enterprises” to “an impeller for joint governance, construction, sharing and win-win of tax authorities and enterprises”, to make the association more important and more influential.

Since its establishment more than two years ago, Guangzhou City Taxpayers Association has made outstanding achievements in communication between tax authorities and enterprises, member service and resource development, and received widespread attention from the society. In the future, bearing its purpose and mission mind and based on member needs, the association will reinforce its communication and guidance functions to build a bridge between tax authorities and enterprises and create a win-win situation for tax authorities and enterprises; meanwhile, it will innovate the development of the association with “taxation+” integrated services, and make more contribution in creating a better business environment and pushing forward joint governance and win-win of tax authorities and enterprises.
